Humpday Hymn: Sampha – “Timmy’s Prayer”

If ever you’re listening
If heaven’s a prison
Then I am your prisoner

Last year, we put you on game to Sampha’s sultry vocals on another Humpday Hymn “Without”. Since then, he’s collaborated with Kanye West, and written on Beyonce’s latest offering as well.  He’s back on his own solo effort in this transcendent ballad that turns into a dance track midway. Dope stuff from Young Turks across the pond as usual, CHECK IT OUT.

Throwback Thursday: Rolling Stones – “Satisfaction” (I Can’t Get No)

Fun Fact: Jagger and the boys were not complaining about the lack of satisfaction. EXACT OPPOSITE. “I can’t get NO”, as in “No”‘ is not an expected answer to our requests. Between them and the Beatles, that British invasion had American groupies on-lock somethin fierce back then (think One Direction with Zayn, but rockstar AF). Satisfaction was the normal state for them boys, and may it be for the rest of your weekend!

P.s.
GUYS…(and gals – since that’s apparently a thing)…NO MEANS NO, mkay? You’re not a British rockstar. We have laws for a reason, ya animal!

Turnip Tuesday: Disclosure – “Omen” (Ft. Sam Smith)

Ever since they “LATCHED” onto the crooner Sam Smith’s soulful vibes, the duo of brothers has blended soulful vibez effortlessly with what can be described as  pounding electronic jazz throughout the neo-soul British invasion of American pop.  This is the 1st single from their new album coming soon. The turnip should be enjoyed smooth in a chilled glass in the outside Summer feel on this one. Swag it out!
P.s.
Scooter, hook Justin up with these guys ASAP. They should produce his first adult record! #GhostAnR

Turnip Tuesday – Krept & Konan – “Freak Of The Week” (Ft. Jeremih)

The British are coming, slowly but surely Caribbean influenced British raps is making its way across the Atlantic.  We already gave you the grime smash “Shutdown” with British-Nigerian Skepta.  The most notable of these brits is usually heard wearing the audio uniform of Grime, but these guys take it to the islands with the dancehall/reggae influence and the help of Chicago crooner Jeremih. TURN UP DEM!
