FY Friday: Lil Wayne – What You Sayin (Busta Rhymes Tribute)

Remember that throwback we did yesterday? Dope right? WHOO-HA! Gotcha all in check!  Lil Wayne seems to agree. He liked it so much he redid the hip hop classic perfectly bringin it to a 2015 Flashback Friday.

Favorite line: “Umma kick somebody in they mouth; MMA”

Excuse the wack dj screams… I’m usually a fan of djs but this dude SUCKS. *paging Khaled*

Monday Mood: Lil Wayne – “I Feel Good”

Let’s keep up the spirits from the earlier morning commute selection with a jam from the “Free Weezy Album”. Named such, as it is the Young Money founder’s protest album amidst an ongoing $50 Million dollar legal battle he has with Cash Money Records while attempting to terminate business relations with the only label he has ever known. He announced recently that he had just “signed a deal with my mother*uckin idol, Jay-Z“. This is presumably why the mixtape (?) got a window of exclusivity release with Tidal over the Independence Day weekend [sure that’s no coincidence either, in case the message was not clear to his old label].

So it seems Wayne is surfin high while channeling his inner James Brown on this newly formed Tidal Wave 😉  Apple Music gets Taylor Swift, Tidal gets Weezy F Baby. Word. Too early to turnip to this?

FYFriday: Wash – “Can’t Trust THOTS” (Ft. French Montana)

Couple Things:

1. IT’S FRIDAY! So here’s some guidelines on an popular, but elusive term and breed out there. Wanna avoid them? Wanna be one with class? Is that even possible? Want some? Let’s cover the bases. The unofficial definition of the internet created-term is THOT “That Heaux Over There“. Plural = “thots“. Sentence = “You’re gonna spend all your money buying thots drinks, huh? Sucka!

2. According this song, (presumably should you have an after-party with one or more present), you MUST (i) Take their phone and ID, otherwise you’ll end up on blast on their Instagram [not sure why the ID’s relevant there, but not my song] (ii) Beware of the sleepy-selfie (iii) Have plenty bottles on deck, tis what they feed upon.

3. Can we all agree that this tempo for songs is lazy, PLAYED OUT (therefore needs to be PHASED out, BEN).  Jay made the declaration with another fad/crutch a few years back. Since Tyga’s “Rack City“, its been the same “Loyal” chords and drum arrangements through Big Sean’s latest Anti-You jam. Please “Show Me” something different for the crowd, “Don’t Tell Em” its new because its NOT. It’s the THOT of sounds right now.
